A number of Wikis are out there covering Classic Battletech and/or wargaming in general. Wikipedia is the most well known wiki and its entry on Classic Battletech is rather encyclopedic. Sarna.net is dedicated entirely to Classic Battletech. It is a much better resource for Classic Battletech as it sticks very closely to the cannon.
My experience has been that these wikis are incomplete. Sarna.net did not have an entry for the LT-MOB-25 Mobile Long Tom Artillery or any of the Artillery Pieces with the sole exception of the Arrow IV Artillery System. I took it upon myself to make entries for the Long Tom, Sniper and Thumper Artillery Pieces and was supprised to learn just how little information was available for them.
A twitter search for Battletech OR Mechwarrior brought up gaming.wikia.com It calls itself "Wikia Gaming, your source for walkthroughs, games, guides, and more!" It's section on Miniature wargaming mentions Battletech but could defiantly use some work. Maybe not to the level of sarna.net but definitely some work. Ironwind Metals is not listed under Manufacturers and the Classic Battletech doesn't have a link to the site. Links for Sarna.net, Camospecs, and Battlecorps belong under the links section and so on.
We should be on the look out for wikis that pertain to Classic Battletech. We have a responsibility as members of the Classic Battletech community to give back; keep the record straight; and bring more attention to the game. I love to play and the best way ensure we have games to play is to put the information out there. Keep the Signal alive.
